This map takes place in a rebuilt United States, specifically Southern California, many years after the subsequent defeat of the Combine. The Southern California Interdimensional Institute of Technology and Natural Science Museum is a place where the alien relics of the Black Mesa Resonance Cascade Event reside in this place of learning.
