Hey everyone, it's Ol' ToMoBoBo. I'm so glad this contest came about, I'm the biggest rats fan there is. OK without further adue, I present, de_rats_2004ever A labor of love, this map is a "re-imagining" of the original de_rats_2004_crzy made by Crzy, you can see it here. http://css.gamebanana.com/maps/3680 I fell in love with rats on this map, and this map was the first I had ever taken apart and tweaked. I spoke with Crzy back then and he was happy to let me continue development on the map, though my tweaks were very novice. So this map is my token of appreciation for the rats community, a classic one-site deffuse map, probably taken to the limit. Damn near everything in the map is a model that I hand crafted in Blender 3d and imported into source. A buddy of mine Quick dropped me a few models to lighten the load. I tried to make a lot of stuff physics enabled so there's probably going to be some quirks here and there due to source not being so advanced, but I think it makes the map more fun being able to shoot stuff and it move. The filesize is probably huge, but I'm using 99% custom materials and 100% custom models, I hope it's worth the one time wait users will have to go through on downloading. This map used to be pretty CT sided, I tried to give the T more options, but then gave the CT a lot of options so it's probably CT favored. I really do try to focus on making a map that you can strategize in, not just run around and shoot. However, this time I spent way way way too much time on silly fun stuff like the train and flying vehicles. I did try to make sure that if you don't want to play with all the things the game would still flow like a normal de_ map. Both teams will have to press their respective air vehicle button to unlock air battles. The vehicles will break on too much damage and then I didn't get to figuring out how to get the player back after the vehicle crashes so you may experience some bugs. But please take my word that this map isn't just for silly stuff, it was a great map in 2004 and there're so many more routes and opportunities that I'm sure you'll enjoy plenty of competitive play.
