Description

One of the few good things that came out of Half-Life: Source was a view into some of the things Valve originally intended to do with the original retail release of Half-Life but didn't have the time to implement. Half-Life has always had a very jank end credits roll. Some people even believe this to be a soft crash or a bug when they first see it, given how abruptly it ends. Valve would later go on to address this in Half-Life: Source, but after failing to find any community fix for it in the original game, I decided to try my hand at fixing it myself. Using the Vanilla Map Fixes mod as a base, I think I've now synced it nearly perfectly after much trial and error.I've not tampered with any of the text beyond separating the game's 3 title cards of 10 credits, to 30 title cards of just 1 and also changing the timing for each transition from 5 seconds to 2.75 to compensate. The result is much cleaner, and both endings are now properly synced with the credits theme.As a bonus, I have also included the following other bug and visual oddity fixes in Endgame:- The Xenian island you spawn in on now has correctly aligned faces for the obelisks and the geometry for the island itself is properly aligned with no gaps.- The extra piece of geometry clipping through the island across from you in the "bridges" section has been removed.- The broken alien controllers in the "refuse" ending have been fixed so they no longer face away from the player.- The alien grunts in the "refuse" ending are now full-quality models, instead of sprites.
