March 11, 2020. The World Health Organization declares the COVID-19 outbreak a pandemic. March 12-21, 2020. British Columbia goes into full lockdown. Schools shut down, businesses close or restrict access, and other public hotspots begin closing to prevent the spread of the virus. April 3, 2020. Protests are organized against the lockdown, with participants stating that their freedom is essential and no pandemic will hinder them. Some of the protestors go to extreme lengths, looting from the now empty workplaces, and small acts of violence increase in frequency. Not far from the Gastown district in Vancouver are two warehouses. Targets are speculated to be the original working places for the perpetrators, but no further confirmation. It is unclear what their motives are, as well as what are within the two targets: A large red container in a parking lot that was never moved, and a truck that never left the loading zone. April 7, 2020. An anonymous tipper has informed the Vancouver police about the attack. All officers involved have been given orders to keep the operation quiet from public knowledge.
