Description

All credit goes to the members of the Perfect Dark source mod team (teamdark, EroCodeurs) I did not make any of these maps, I only edited them slightly. Perfect Dark was the spiritual sequel to goldeneye created by Rareware for the Nintendo 64. PDS was a mod in production from 2007-2009, with the idea of bringing the game to the source engine, and It never left Beta. I had high hopes for it, but since it never came out, not many have seen these maps before. All of the maps have original music in the background, and custom assets with a Perfect Dark theme.Link to original mod: https://www.moddb.com/mods/perfect-darksourcepds_complex:This one is mostly HL2 assets on top of some custom assets. Its very true to the Goldeneye/Perfect dark layout, which means you'll probably get lost. Its very pretty, and the custom skybox is to die for. To port this over, I had to redo a lot of the lighting, but other than that Its in its original form.Pds_Ravine:This is the biggest of the three maps. True to the original layout in Perfect dark, just as Dark in the lighting as the original was. It was frankly kind of boring, to compensate I made this one mostly about crossbow/magnum gameplay. To bring it into HL2 I had to fix some lighting, cubemaps, and move around some of the assets. There were several leaks in this one, I patched those up as well. All of the ladders were broken and did not function, I made them into push ladders so that they function properly and you do not get stuck on them.Pds_Felicity:This one is a true gem. Its true to the original layout, Lots of custom textures in a Perfect Dark theme. The original map makers put their heart into this one. There were misc issues with brushes and Z-fighting, cubemaps, lighting, and I had to tinker with some of the custom assets to get them to work. Something Important I did with this one was add a hallway for balance. The original layout from Goldeneye has a very obtuse bottleneck in the middle of the map that really slows down the gameplay. I added a hallway that alleviates that. I kept most of the functioning doors, and deleted others along with widening hallways to make jumping/sprinting/bunnyhopping easier. This one is just as fun as it was on the N64.I put these together for my server, but i figured I'd share them here. I hope you enjoy them.
