Happy E3 everyone! It's my turn to show off something my own too!
//Gameplay//
Hereford Base is a hostage focused map. The CTs spawn at one of the three attacker spawns from the original map in Rainbow Six: Siege. However, only within the shooting range counts as a hostage rescue zone. The defending team spawns with a single hostage in the bedroom.
The map features destructible window barricades and floor hatches. As well, the bottom half of all exterior wooden walls can be destroyed meaning you can create your own ways into the base! The hatches and barricades only need one hit from the secondary knife attack to destroy (think of it like Sledge's hammer). While the wooden walls need two. Guns and explosives can also destroy or deplete their health.
Finally, in the spirit of Siege and Tom Clancy himself (and despite what the menus will tell you) there is no terrorist faction in this map. The Counter-Terrorist option lets you play as the GSG9 and the Terrorist option lets you play as the SAS.

I had always wanted to recreate other maps from different games in the Source engine. While I have attempted to recreate a few, the maps of Siege had a better sticking point. That and I really enjoy Siege. I eventually landed on Hereford. And with the map getting it's make over soon, I thought that this could be a good remembrance of the original design and layout.
Speaking of which, the differences in the standard layouts between the two games offers something different to CS:GO, which I thought would be neat too. Generally in CS:GO it's a four-square layout with different restricted lanes that both teams meet in. In Siege, it's focused on a central structure which one team raids.
It must also be said that no texture or other asset from Rainbow Six: Siege was used in this. Everything seen in this map was pulled directly from CS:GO. As well, due to a variety of reasons this map is not a 100% perfect recreation. The biggest of them being measurements and asset equivalance. Because there are no measurements for the walls in Siege, everything was eyeballed. Yes, this entire map was built based off of just looking at the original, which means there will be issues. As well, the theme and settings of the games are different so that means not every prop needed to recreate the map was available. I did what I could and tried to hand make stuff when needed just to make give it a little more.
Finally, this map has quite a bit too it. There are nearly three times as many brush models in this, as there is my previous two Half-Life 2 maps. And it's quite a big layout. This combined might mean some issues running for some people. This is also why it is a hostage map. While there are gameplay reasons why I did not choose bomb, main one was when the bomb explodes. In CS:GO the bomb explodes and damages a large area, meaning that if it were to go off, all the destructible surfaces would be destroyed too leading to further struggles for people.

I want to say thank you to everyone who checks this map out and thank you to the dev teams behind Siege and CS:GO. Both games are great at what they do. And if people really like the Siege recreations, I can try and do more. As well, I am still working on more HL2 and original maps for CS:GO and Gmod maps too.
If you enjoy my content, Steam does have a subscribe feature for workshop creators. You will be able to see any future releases I have.
