Description
Proof of concept for allowing Terrorists to run down the timer in a primarily Hostage Rescue map with optional Bomb objective.How it works: upon map load the bombsite entity is templated by a persistent point_template, and is 'killed' at the end of a round. The point_template then spawns the bombsite after the freeze period at the start of the round, so the game believes it is on Hostage Scenario since there were only hostages at the start of the round, making Terrorists win upon timer rundown. This is all while having a bombsite for more unconventional gameplay (such as 'defenestration' maps)Unfortunately, this implementation only works for the second round of a match onwards, since the warmup period messes things up and makes it difficult to kill the bombsite entity before the first round. Feel free to change stuff in the .vmf in order to solve this problem.Note that this map spawns a weapon_c4 entity every round (two on the first round currently, though only one bomb can be planted at a time regardless).This was developed for 'defenestration' maps, where CTs (typically) start with the hostages and journey through the map to the hostage rescue zone. Many submissions to 3kliksphilip's map contest had both hostages and a bombsite (I believe this was also the case for his original de_fenestration) which may have been problematic for balance as there was no real rush for CTs to actually rescue the hostage as they win anyway. This concept will hopefully fix that issue.This submission comes with both a .bsp file for previewing the concept and .vmf file for implementation into your own map (note that the weapon_c4 entity does not have a model on some setups so it has been put into a 'enableoncompile' visgroup so it doesn't obstruct a large portion of the map, make sure to enable the visgroup when compiling or else the bomb won't spawn - and note that the centre of the model is where it will spawn in-game).
